20 Years Of Lucion!

Did you know that this year Lucion turned 20? 

 

These last 20 years have been significant. For those team members and clients who have been with us from the beginning, you may remember how it all started. In an old abattoir in Gateshead in 2003 with a luminous hamburger logo, (click here for a blast from the past).

As the year draws to a close, I have come to reflect on what we have achieved as a business over the past 20 years and what is still to come.

In 20 years we have worked with 6,418 clients, delivered over 104,485 contracts, acquired 12 companies, grown to offer over 400 environmental services, and weathered two recessions and a pandemic. This has, of course, come with its trials and tribulations, but we’ve also seen our colleagues meet and get married, our trainees become senior leaders (including myself - it’s been a long time since I completed a site survey and an air test from the back of the Ford Focus in 2006!) in the business, and much more in between. 

Our journey to success has been because of our people. In the Summer, we held a special awards ceremony to celebrate our 20th year of operation and recognised individuals from across the company who have consistently performed, impressed and gone above and beyond, our shining stars. Throughout December, we will highlight some of these individuals who make our Lucion community what it is, and I hope you will join me in celebrating their achievements.

Whilst we’re proud of where we have been, we know what’s important is how we move forward, learning from all the experiences we have had until now. Going into 2024, you will see changes at Lucion. Changes that will help us to fulfil our purpose, to Protect People & Planet. In 2024 we will be bringing all our brands under one roof, combining our teams and our services to better serve you, our clients, with a holistic approach to protecting your environment and your people. Watch out for more on this in the new year. 

This festive season is also the perfect time of year to let you know how much we appreciate your support and business during 2023. We hope you have a restful and happy festive season and look forward to working together in the new year.

It’s clear it has been another busy year for our team, and the upcoming holidays will be a welcome opportunity for us all to rest and reset. We will be closing our offices at 5 pm on Friday 22nd December 2023 and reopening on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 at 8:30 am. Our Aberdeen office will be closed on the 25th-26th of December and the 1st-2nd of January.
