Offshore Energy & Power

Offshore Energy Evolution

The energy sector is evolving. In response to economic, social and sustainability drivers the demand for sustainable, secure energy is rising.

In a world where unlimited access to energy cannot be guaranteed and the impact of climate change is widely recognised, the challenge of producing, processing, distributing, and utilising clean and affordable energy is becoming increasingly important. To address these challenges, many energy suppliers are retrofitting their current Assets Under Management (AUMs) with sustainable technologies and decommissioning platforms that are no longer suitable for their intended purpose.

Our team has decades of experience working across a wide range of oil and gas maintenance and decommissioning projects within the UK, West Africa and South America, delivering a suite of essential Naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) compliance services.

For each project we develop a truly bespoke service, tailored around client requirements. Our team have experience in the working on FPSOs, FSOs, FPUs, fixed platforms, and jack-up and semi-submersible rigs.

TALK TO THE TEAM

Offshore ENERGY & POWER SECTOR SERVICES

Qualifications and Assurance

Acquired by Lucion in December 2021, we were founded in 2001. We provide a full radiation protection service to a wide range of sectors with a sepcific focus on offshore, energy and power.

We do not utilise sub-contractors to deliver radiation advisory services. This means we have all experience, competency and expertise in-house and can control resource allocation to ensure we meet client led requirements, timescales and quality standards.

We hold ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications for our quality and health, safety and environment management systems, demonstrating that our company operations, including for training, equipment calibration, and document control meet recognised UK standards.

Our awarding body, BSI visits our offices on a regular basis to review documentation and evidence that we are compliant with the certification requirements and criteria. The scope of our registrations is for the provision of radiation protection and radioactive waste advisory services and radiological training services, meaning that the certifications apply directly to the services required under this framework.

We know that no two clients are the same. Our team produces all radiological assessment reports and other report types using bespoke methods based on the type of work being completed. Reports will include the details of the work undertaken, who undertook the work, the assessment results and any other information relating to the project.

In line with our ISO 9001 quality management system, we have a process for peer assessment and review of all reports where another equally qualified and competent Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) or Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA) will check reports for technical accuracy, compliance with guidance, and consistency before being authorised and delivered to the client.

Environmentally Concious Supplier

We are part of the Lucion Group, a purpose-driven company, dedicated to protecting people from hazardous environments and protecting the environment from the impacts of people.

Through the Lucion Group of companies, we facilitate the sustainable development of clients across 12 key sectors worldwide through risk mitigation services. To assist our clients at every stage of their asset lifecycle journey, our Group works as three industry verticals: inspection, providing hazardous material testing data analysis and surveys; assessment, a conductor of physical onsite investigations including geoenvironmental and geotechnical studies; and advisory, offering environmental, sustainability and consultancy services.

As a private equity-backed business, we are sustainable, and interesting and continue to grow and push forward to secure our future as a business not only for our investors but for our community of people. The Group signed up for the UN Global Compact in November 2022. With its internationally recognised set of 10 universal principles for good business practice, the international aspect is an important one. The commitment to the UN Global Compact includes providing a corporate disclosure of ESG annually, which we will be completing for the first time in 2023. As we acquire more businesses the integration is a challenge as they adapt to the culture and values of the Group and we have more data to collect, for example across our fleet and property portfolio. We have addressed this by creating roles in these key areas, and understand that having good data and being well informed allows us to make the best choices in the future. It has also enabled us to become a “Beyond Net Zero” business with action plans for carbon emissions reductions.

We are determined to see a positive change in the landscape of our business. We are happy to report that in December 2022, we reached ‘beyond carbon neutral’ status and have not only offset our current carbon production, but have also continued to limit our carbon production where possible, and aim to offset not only what's leftover, but an additional 50% of the output in 2023. We will continue to make an impact whilst expanding our international capabilities with our founding membership (through our Delta-Simons business) with the Inogen® Alliance, a global corporation providing multinational organisations with consistent, high quality and cost-effective environmental, health, safety, energy and sustainability solutions.

Innovative Solutions

All project data that we use and create is stored on a cloud based system provided by Atos, meaning access is controlled by secure login and no information is stored locally on network drives. We do not use hard copy documents and servers are off-site, provided by Atos. Using a cloud based system means that we can access documents and folders from any location and any device, and that our data is secure and protected from data loss or corruption. Atos holds ISO 27001 accreditation for Information Security Management, demonstrating that our data is stored securely, with leading protection in line with best practice for protection against viruses, corruption and data loss.

We hold Cyber Essentials Plus certification as a demonstration that we are protected against the most common cyber attacks.

We provide all services using in-house full time employed staff and do not utilise sub-contracted services, meaning we can better control quality outputs on the framework.
